This line made me think of a scene from Up In The Air, where George Clooney is explaining to Anna Kendrick why he doesn't want to get married. She says something very similar to this, and his response?

"Starting when I was 12, we moved each one of my grandparents into a nursing facility. My parents went the same way. Make no mistake: We all die alone."

That's about as real and honest as it gets.
